Fettuccine Alfredo

Fettuccine Alfredo

There are many Alfredo sauce recipes out there. This fettuccine Alfredo recipe is one of my family’s favorite, and never ceases to please whoever we make it for. It is ridiculously tasty, but I feel I should give you a fair disclaimer: It is not for the faint of heart. By that I mean it might stop your heart because it is so unhealthy. So amazingly, deliciously unhealthy.

Approximate cooking time: 15 – 20 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz fettuccini
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¾ cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg yolk beaten
  • Ground white pepper to taste
  • 1 stick of butter (yes, an entire stick, deal with it)

Directions:

  1. Soften the butter.
  2. Beat the egg yolk and add cream.
  3. Cook fettuccine, drain.
  4. Add butter to fettuccine, stir in until melted and butter evenly coats the pasta.
  5. Mix in roughly 1/3 cream mix and ¼ cup Parmesan at a time to the pasta for an even coating.
  6. Add white pepper to taste (I like one circle of shaking over the pasta) and stir it in.
  7. Serve immediately.

Yield: 4 ish.
